Playing media that's stored on a media server
Browse photos, music, and videos stored remotely on a media server in your home
network, and play them right on your phone. You can also easily switch the playback
from your phone to another player in your home network.
Before you start, make sure you've turned on Wi-Fi on your phone and connected
to your home network.
1. On the Start screen, tap .
2. Tap Connected Media.
3. Slide left or right to choose whether you'd like to browse music, videos, or
photos on your phone.
4. Tap media servers under music, video, or photo, and then tap the server name.
5. Navigate to the location or category which contains the media that you want.
6. Tap the media that you want to play. Your phone then shows the playback
screen and plays the media.
7. Use the playback buttons onscreen to control the playback.
8. To switch the playback from your phone to another player in your home
network, tap , choose a player, and then tap .

Use the playback screen in Connected Media while streaming media to your home
network or playing media on your phone.
You'll find the following controls on this screen:
Play
Pause
Go to previous photo or music track
Go to next photo or music track
Turn shuffle mode on or off (music only)
Turn repeat mode on or off (photos and music only)
Volume up (music and videos only)
Volume down (music and videos only)
