8.2 Ways of Connecting to the Internet
Your phones networking capabilities let you access the Internet or your corporate 
network at work through wireless and conventional connections.
You can connect to the Internet by using one of the following:
Wi-Fi
GPRS or EDGE
Dial-up
Note You can also add and set up the following connections:
• 
VPN: A VPN connection is used to access your corporate network by using an 
existing Internet connection.
•  Proxy: A Proxy connection is used to access the Internet using an existing 
connection to your corporate or WAP network.
8.3 Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi provides wireless Internet access over distances of up to 300 feet. To use Wi-Fi 
on your device, you need access to a wireless access point or “hotspot.
Note The availability and range of your phones Wi-Fi signal depends on the number, 
infrastructure, and other objects through which the signal passes.
Connect to T-Mobile HotSpot
T-Mobile HotSpot gives you wireless access to the Internet over the T-Mobile Wi-Fi 
network in convenient locations across the U.S., such as airports, coffee shops, 
bookstores, hotels, and more. It is great for e-mail, Web browsing, and other high-
bandwidth applications. 
Contact T-Mobile to add T-Mobile HotSpot service to your data plan. Visit 
www.t-mobile.com or a T-Mobile store for plan information.
Your device can automatically log you into T-Mobiles wireless network whenever 
you visit a T-Mobile HotSpot.
